The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the goal of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move their chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely stop any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if she ever attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you’ve successfully constructed the prime to stop the activity of the competitor, the opponent doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you shift your pieces and toss the dice again. You will win the game for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to better your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game tactic utilizes alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is commonly employed when you’re far behind your competitor.
