As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and pure luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at particular times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift her pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if he at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. Once you’ve successfully built the prime to prevent the activity of the competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your pieces and toss the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game plan uses seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is commonly utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this plan, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
