The aim is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your home board and at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift their checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opponent by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or result a battered position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point 11 in your board. Once you’ve successfully built the prime to prevent the movement of your opponent, the opponent does not even get to roll the dice, and you shift your checkers and roll the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions in hope to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game plan utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game technique is generally utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
