As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of skill and good luck. The aim is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at specific times. Here are the last two Backgammon tactics to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift his checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get bumped, or result a bad position if he ever attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your board. Once you’ve successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of the opponent, your competitor does not even get to roll the dice, and you move your checkers and toss the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions hoping to improve your chances of winning, however the Back Game plan utilizes alternate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is commonly employed when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice roll.
