As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and luck. The goal is to shift your checkers safely around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at particular times. Here are the two final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the purpose of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he/she ever tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to prevent the movement of your opponent, the competitor does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions with hope to better your odds of winning, but the Back Game tactic relies on different tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is generally utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
