As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player moves their checkers toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her chips, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opponent by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your board. As soon as you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the activity of the competitor, the competitor doesn’t even get to toss the dice, that means you move your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions with hope to better your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game strategy relies on seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is generally employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
