As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of ability and good luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the game board to your home board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move their checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely block any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point eleven in your half of the board. After you’ve successfully constructed the prime to prevent the movement of the competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions with hope to improve your odds of winning, but the Back Game plan relies on different tactics to do that. The Back Game strategy is commonly utilized when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partly the result of the dice toss.
