The Running Game Plan
The aim of the Running Game technique is to bring all your pieces into your home board and bear them off as quickly as you could. This strategy focuses on the speed of moving your chips with little or no efforts to hit or block your opponent’s chips. The best time to use this strategy is when you believe you can move your own pieces a lot faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the game board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main aim of the blocking tactic, by the title, is to block your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your pieces rapidly. After you’ve established the barrier for your competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can move your other checkers swiftly from the game board. You should also have a clear strategy when to extract and shift the chips that you employed for blocking. The game gets intriguing when your opposition utilizes the same blocking strategy.
