As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and luck. The goal is to move your chips safely around the game board to your home board and at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift his chips, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely stop any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or result a battered position if she ever attempts to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your half of the board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to prevent the activity of the competitor, your opponent doesn’t even get to toss the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to better your odds of winning, but the Back Game strategy uses seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game strategy is generally used when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
