As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and good luck. The aim is to move your chips carefully around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move her chips, the Priming Game tactic is to completely stop any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or result a battered position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point two and point 11 in your game board. Once you’ve successfully constructed the prime to block the movement of the competitor, your opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you move your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions in hope to improve your chances of winning, however the Back Game technique utilizes seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is commonly used when you’re far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this plan, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
