As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The aim is to shift your chips carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their home board in the opposite direction. With opposing player pieces moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift their checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or result a battered position if she ever tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point eleven in your half of the board. Once you have successfully built the prime to prevent the activity of the competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you move your pieces and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions in hope to boost your odds of winning, however the Back Game tactic relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is often used when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
