The objective of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the game board and bear those pieces off the board quicker than your challenger who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and fortune. Just how far you will be able to move your chips is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you move your pieces are determined by your overall playing plans. Players use differing techniques in the differing parts of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The aim of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your checkers into your inside board and get them off as quickly as you could. This technique concentrates on the pace of moving your pieces with little or no time spent to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The best time to employ this tactic is when you think you might be able to move your own checkers faster than your opponent does: when 1) you have less pieces on the game board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Technique
The primary aim of the blocking strategy, by the title, is to block the opponent’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about moving your checkers rapidly. Once you’ve established the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can move your other checkers quickly from the board. The player will need to also have a clear plan when to extract and move the pieces that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when your competitor uses the same blocking technique.
