As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and luck. The goal is to shift your checkers safely around the board to your home board and at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player pieces moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon plans to round out your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or result a battered position if she ever attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your chips and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your odds of winning, however the Back Game strategy uses seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is commonly employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice roll.
