As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at specific instances. Here are the two final Backgammon tactics to round out your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift their checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any movement of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if he ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your half of the board. After you’ve successfully assembled the prime to stop the activity of the opponent, your competitor does not even get to toss the dice, and you move your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions hoping to better your odds of winning, however the Back Game technique relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is often utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
