As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and luck. The aim is to move your checkers safely around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to complete your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift their checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point 11 in your half of the board. As soon as you’ve successfully constructed the prime to prevent the movement of your competitor, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions in hope to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic relies on seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game technique is frequently utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
