As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to shift your chips carefully around the game board to your inner board while at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift his chips, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he at all tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. Once you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the activity of the competitor, the opponent doesn’t even get to toss the dice, that means you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions hoping to boost your odds of winning, but the Back Game plan utilizes alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is generally utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice roll.
